Don't know about these other people but.... January 6, 2009 Personally, I find these to be an amazing set of earbuds. So much so, that I am actually writing my first Amazon review. After seeing all the reviews about horrible sound, I think those are just people that unluckily got a fake set. Which really, we can't even blame Amazon for, as they are at the mercy of the suppliers they buy from, who could have been duped as well. Either way, easy way to find out, is pull off the silicone earpiece, and look at the mesh screen. If it is on the outside they are fake, on the inside is real. Only reason I gave them a 4 rather than a 5, is I hate the cord.
falls out January 6, 2009 I cannot keep the buds in my ears. Freguent changes of the bud covers does not help. Other than that, sound is good with my Sony am/fm portable radio.
Amazing while sitting, not for working out January 5, 2009 I have owned many pairs of headphones and earbuds over the years, and these are without questions one of the best. When you are sitting down at your desk, on the subway, or just walking down the street, these are essentially the best headphones you can get. The sound is crisp, and the bass response is very impressive. They are only $24 right now on Amazon with free shipping, and I would honestly say I would buy them for 4x that!
I can't recommend them in the car, as they effectively cut out almost ALL outside sound. At the office I can't hear any phones or people around me, with the music not very loud at all. I haven't tried them on a plane, but I imagine they would be extremely good at blocking out the outside noise. As they aren't officially sound-reducing, if you can still hear the outside rumble a little bit, you can't complain.
The only quality of these earbuds that isn't perfect is trying to use them while working out. I love the y-shape wire, which is perfect for running down your left side. However, when you are working out, and the cord is bouncing around, every time it knocks against something it reverberates inside your ear for a loud and annoying popping sound. After reading other reviews of this product, I would have to agree that it is annoying but you can ignore it if you aren't bouncing around too much. Other than that: best earbuds I've ever used, especially if you like completely blocking out the outside world.
Faller-outers good sound while their in. January 4, 2009 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
Sound is nothing spectacular. They come with no case so you have to keep up with the ear pieces on your own..good luck with that. And speaking of those little ear pieces..they are GREAT at FALLING OUT, regardless of the size you pick. If this falling-out feature attracts you - why, these are for you! And then, as more icing on the cake, the Sennheiser CX 300 cords are created so one is much shorter than the other. It still amazes me just how this particular technological "epiphany" of one-side shorter cords actually made it through to production for a few companies, but somehow, it did. Maybe they were on the assembly line long after somebody with a brain yelled "STOP!". Pick one up for a penny then gently toss it away. For price-point wisdom in an overall hardy earphone for under $15, go with the Griffin ear-buds.
Awesome Earbuds! Highly Recommended! January 4, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First I'd like to state that I'm not a picky listener and I have little experience with music quality and things of that sort; previously I was using a pair of 10 dollar Sony earbuds, and before I broke them(accidently stepped on, lol) the pair that came with my ipod Classic. These are definitely an improvement. They are pretty good at isolating outside noise. It comes with 3 sizes of silicone tips, I have small ears and these fit nicely, so if you're worried about the fit, there is no problems there. A few things to note, they have an asymmetrical cord meaning one cord(the right earbud)is longer than the left; I'm not a big fan of this, it looks semi awkward if you're not wearing them correctly(lol, they have instructions on how to properly wear them inside), plus I tend to rip the left one out occasionally, that being said it's a small subtraction. Anyway for 20 dollars, these are totally worth it, selling for 59.99 at most retail stores. Lastly I wouldn't recommend these for gym use as they do slip out fairly easily; this is due to the fact you have to have this sort of "seal" with the silicone tip and the ear canal, they never really feel secure, as they would with a sports/apple earbud. That being said, these come highly recommended for casual use, such as walking to class, on the bus, sleeping etc.
What's in the box? Not much, the 3 sizes of silicone buds and the earbuds themselves, that's about it. Also they have a 2 year warranty for the earbuds, which is nice.
Note: Make sure you buy them from an authorized dealer, I bought mine directly from amazon and they are legit; that being said, there are people who apparently are getting fakes from Amazon, so I guess it's hit or miss. You can check if you got fakes fairly easily by checking the physical characteristics, just google fake Sennheiser cx300's, you'll get pictures and what not.
Quick Summary Pros: Cheap 19.99 from Amazon Improvement over ipod earbuds and cheaper earbuds Nice outside sound isolation Clear sounding audio Great for casual use Cons: Asymmetrical Cord Not for gym use Easy to get fakes, google this.
