This supplier is guilty of deceptive advertising! The product was listed as 5x power. It is about 2x,

I would return it except I am so mad at the supplier that I do not want to have anything to do with them
If you can extrct a refund I will be most grateful.

These are well made hand held magnifying glasses. I got these for children two to 10 year olds to carry with them on field trips, to the beach, and park. They are tough enough to take being dropped on the floor without breaking and powerful enough to keep the interest of a two year old for thirty minutes or more.

the handle is plastic and very thin making it awkward, even uncomfortable to hold. this thiness makes the item seem more flimsy than perhaps it is, much more as i'd expect in a toy glass. while the glass is decent size and clear, it has only one sharp focal point and that not very forgiving; move it only slightly and the words rapidly go out of focus. it would also be my guess that this glass will not stand up to withstanding beiing scratch easily, due to the thin rim. the B&L glass i have had for many many years with thicker rim and handle has after MUCH use, only one small scratch; and the glass itself is a quality glass, better than what is on the glass that i just received.
i also have a Bausch and Lomb glass which works much better, and while i bought it some time ago, the price was not much different. it is more substantial in weight, handle thickness, and even pleasant to hold (egonomics at work here as opposed the item under review).
this mag glass would be more like what i would have expected at one of the 99 cents stores. in my opinion that is closer to what it is worth. the picture does not reflect in my eyes what i actually got.

This product was fine, but not adequate for what the person it was sent to needed. This was no fault of the product's. It took a little longer to arrive than we had expected, but this was not important.
