4 out of 5 stars The terrible plastic smell is our only problem   August 23, 2008

We bought this bed 1 month ago and put it up immediately, to air out before our guest arrived last night. I have been airing the thing out for a month and it STILL has that noxious plastic smell. We've had the window open for a month, leaned it up on it's side, stuck pillows inbetween the 2 mattresses to allow the bottom inside plastic to also air, and I wiped it down with a baking soda solution....still the plastic smell. I'm really hoping that it will fade.

That, so far, is the only reason the mattress has a 4-star rating from me. Otherwise, it would have 5 stars. The rest of the features are GREAT: It's high enough to sit on just like a regular bed, the mattress cover is wonderful to have, along with the dust ruffle. I bought full-size sheets and they fit the bed beautifully, and being able to tuck them in is great. Outside of the smell, you wouldn't know it was an air bed. I actually slept on the bed earlier and it was very comfortable, even with the smell (which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 3...even with the smell I could sleep on the bed because of its comfort).

The bed has been great, for the month that we've had it up. During the past month it has not lost air while it's been set up, turned over and over to air, etc. That's also another plus for us. We love the bed and just hope that the smell will fade much more than it has.

1 out of 5 stars Design flaw made for unusable bed   August 16, 2008

We own a queen size of the AeroBed raised air mattresses and it's wonderfully comfortable, easy to set up and store and works great as a guest bed. I had to return the twin-sized bed because it was impossible to comfortably sleep on. It was fine until you turned on your side then the weight distribution caused the mattress to list to one side and you rolled toward that slide as if you were on a slope. We tried this with different air inflation levels and different body sizes and always had the same effect whenever anyone turned on their side. This isn't a problem on the queen size because there's enough surface area to keep the bed stable but for the twin size, it was a significant enough problem to return the product.

Aerobed Premier DuraSuede Queen Air MattressAeroBed Premier Comfort Zone Raised Queen Air Mattress

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I purchased it from another vendor (not through Amazon) and it leaked just after the 30 day return policty with that vendor. SO BAD LUCK FOR ME!!!......IT COULD NOT BE RETURNED. A BIG WASTE OF MONEY......AND THE LEAK COULD NEVER BE FOUND. SO MUCH FOR THE PATCHES PROVIDED!!!!!! I WILL "NEVER" BUY ANOTHER AEROBED PRODUCT AND "DO NOT CARE" WHAT VENDOR IS SELLING IT. When I saw it advertized today on my Amazon email, it upset me all over again!!! This is an "BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK" purchase, and thought EVERYONE SHOULD BE WARNED IN ADVANCE OF WASTING YOUR MONEY.
