Very elegant August 14, 2008 Very elegant TV stand. Took about 2 hours to put it together. Depth and height are fine but the shelves on the two sides are barely wide enough for a bulky A/V receiver. With the door hinges, it was a torture to make all the connections and place the receiver inside. Otherwise very pleased with the purchase. As another reviewer said, it is not too wide for a 42" flat screen TV.
Nice cabinet, bad delivery experience July 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered this cabinet before I ordered my new 58" Samsung plasma, a very heavy TV. It was scheduled for a July 8th delivery, but was lost in the system and showed up 8 days later, after the TV. Other than the inconveinience, the cabinet went together easily, with no problems. It looks very good and is functional and sturdy. I would recogmend Amazon should publish the width of the internal compartments as todays components can be rather large. I had to buy a new center channel speaker as my Yamaha was too wide. It will only take one less than 18.7" wide. Most will not fit. I found a Polk Audio CS1 that was 18" wide and sounded good. Forget about the high end models, too wide, and I am not a fan of Bose. I use a Yamaha 7.1 A/V receiver, 2 Infinity front speakes, a Polk Audio sub, the new Polk Audio center and 2 Niles round, built in surround speakers. Overal the cabinet is god.
Decent item priced a bit high July 14, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The item is really nice, however a piece came damaged (replaced by company who makes it, not the company I purchased it from - Electronics Depot). It scratches very easily, and you have to put it together which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5. Overall quality is good, but for that price, I would've thought it was better quality.
Great item, too bad Amazon won't price-match July 11, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this TV stand through buy.com for a total of $296.45 including shipping using live search which gives you money back after 60 days. I tried to have Amazon match this price, which they won't. Too bad, since I really like Amazon. This stand is definitely worth the money, as others have stated. I did also get a PLM50, which is a steel mount for TV's that connects to this stand (as well as some others). It is definitely worth your research to see if it will meet your needs. It lets you mount your lcd or plasma tv and adjust the height as well as swiveling left and right.
Terrible customer service March 24, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
While the quality of the item seems slightly above the norm, customer service from this company is dreadful. My new equipment sat around in boxes waiting for a replacement for a damaged shelf that was delayed, then delayed again, by mix-ups on the company's part. Their refusal to budge an inch from their standard process, even though it meant further delay for a very unhappy consumer who had gotten tired of run-arounds and excuses, is a far cry from the real customer service I've experienced elsewhere. I will never buy another TechCraft item.
