 False Advertising, And sheets are too rough November 23, 2008

I am not pleased with this purchase at all. As other posters have mentioned, my set was also a Chris Madden set. I beg to differ about the price, however. Ironically enough, I was buying this set to *replace* this exact Chris Madden set that I already own... And when I purchasd that other set online from another retailer 2 months ago, the cost was *exactly* the same as they're being sold on Amazon.
Anyway, I digress. These sheets are NOT what I would call sateen. They look that way when you pull them out of the package, but once you wash and dry them (even on delicate/warm wash/no bleach/tumble dry low) they come out rough and horribly wrinkled. This does not improve over time. You MUST wash them as I described above though, otherwise they *will* start to shrink. That's common to high thread count bedding though, so I don't hold that against them. :)
Still a good solid set of sheets however, and not the worst I've ever purchased, especially for this low price. My major complaint is the false advertising, because if this listing had been billed correctly, I would NOT have made this purchase. I've been buying 1000tc and up bedding sight unseen from Amazon for 3 years now, and always had great luck and awesome results until just recently.
If you're looking for soft, sateen luxury bedding, that's actually the brand name that you think you're buying, don't buy these.

I really love these sheets.. I bought them last year and you'd never know it. They're very well made, heavy, durable, and very comfortable. You do have to put them on the bed straight away after the dryer though.. or else the wrinkles will show:) They're not your average sheets, thats for sure, and when they wear out in 10 years, I'll buy another set. I am still jazzed about getting this set for just $50.00 at an amazon sale.. I would have paid more... but shhhhhh.

The sheet set I bought is great and was a good price for the quality. I love nice sheets if you want good ones these were great and great priced.

I'm not sure how anyone can possibly give these sheets less than five stars. First, I'm a bit of a linen freak...I expect them to wash well, remain durable, fit perfectly and feel great. I bought 2 sets of these and 4 of another brand - ended up canceling my order on 2 of the others and ordering more of these. Very nice sheets for an amazing price [$50 set).
They wash very well, are exceptionally heavy, very soft to the touch and compare favorably to others 4 to 5 times the price. I'm THRILLED to have found these at this price- a huge savings. Either there are quality control issues and some people are getting very different sheets or they simply don't understand what good sheets are supposed to be like. A nice heavy weight, these wash well and become softer over time. No fading, no stretching, no frays...just soft with a quality weight. Fit perfectly over my extra deep mattress - perfectly happy.
UPDATE: I've now owned several of these sets for three months and can report they wash beautifully. I've experience no shrinkage, no excessive wrinkles and no roughness whatsoever. In fact, the contrary = they continue to soften while retaining a perfect fit and feel. Given the number of other complaints it appears they may be quality issues but the ones I've received were exceptional.
