Loved December 15, 2008 Hard item to find else where. Great item just what I was looking for. Nice and Thick. The price was just right too. Thank you
Fitment not a problem here! November 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife didn't notice any problem with fitment nor has she complained about the material around the neck being too rough. I think that the robe looks and feels very nice and that it was a great value.
Soft but snug November 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There's a lot to like about this product. First, the fact that it is 75% bamboo makes it particularly eco-friendly. Even better, the mix of bamboo and cotton is surprisingly soft. This is easily the most luxurious bathrobe I've ever worn and is a true pleasure just to touch. Finally, it's thick enough to provide plenty of warmth.
On the negative side, the sizing is very slanted toward the small side. I had to give my Large to my wife because it was much too narrow in the shoulders for me. I'm 6'0" tall with a relatively small frame and never buy XL anything, but apparently that's what it would take for this robe. Buy at least one size larger than you think you need and enjoy!
Extremely Comfortable! November 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bathrobe is not "just" a bathrobe. The Pinzon is extraordinarily comfortable with extra thicker cushioning padding around the neck, shoulders and wrists. I was interested to see how bamboo felt (since it is 70% bamboo), but the feel is velvety and lightweight. Four colors and four sizes make choosing your Pinzon easier. Like many of the new sports socks, pants and shirts nowadays, the Pinzon bathrobe also is anti-bacterial with moisture-wicking features to keep you dry and comfortable. This bathrobe actually feels more comfortable than any hotel bathrobe I have encountered. For the price, it is a real steal. Plus, you don't have to wash it very often due to its Eco-friendly qualities. This makes a great gift for anyone (including you).
Luxurious Light-to-Medium Weight Spa Robe November 17, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
As soon as I tried on this Pinzon bathrobe, I tossed my old robe. I couldn't believe that a bamboo (70%) and cotton (30%) blend could feel so soft. For someone like me with sensitive skin, that sells this robe over many others. Most of the fabric is an absorbent, light-to-medium weight terry cloth, but both the collar and the cuffs are weighted by an extra layer of tightly woven, waffle-like (it's a different pattern, but the same idea) fabric that pulls the robe snugly around the back of the neck and that helps the sleeves fall to the wrists. Some people might find this stiffness off-putting, but for me, it took the robe from an ordinary robe to something more luxurious, a robe you'd slip on at a spa. I tested the absorbency of the terry cloth by cleaning a pair of eyeglasses: the moisture was completely removed, with no scratches to the lens surface. (My old cotton robe left some moisture.) Although the terry is relatively thin, it keeps me warm, even when the thermostat is set to 68 degrees.
The robe has a 1.5" wide sash and two pockets. The sash is half-terry, half woven; the woven fabric keeps it from untying by providing friction. I would have preferred slightly deeper pockets, but these are not too shallow to be useful. I've washed this robe twice, with no noticeable shrinkage. The only change I noticed is a less silky feel to the terry. Tumble-drying it left far less lint than I expected; I've had new towels leave three times the amount.
My guess is that the medium robe is an 8-10 size for women, with cuffs rolled up. I had my husband try it on. Because he has no hips, the medium fit him around the torso (size 33), but the sleeves, uneven when uncuffed, were too short. Men may want to check the sleeve length before ordering. Women will want to check the sweep circumference to make sure it accommodates their hips.
This robe would make an excellent gift, as well as a treat for yourself.
