Product Description Hallmark and Bethany have teamed up to produce a lovely gift edition of this bestselling novella by T. Davis Bunn. The Quilt is a beautifully woven intergenerational story of a grandmother who uses a quilting project to pass along her spiritual heritage to family and friends. As the women gather together to share thanksgiving and requests as they quilt, they end up weaving both aspects of prayer into the fabric of their lives. In a world where people often are too busy to talk to those around them, let alone truly care for them, here is a welcome invitation to sit quietly, pray for others, and give thanks to God. A perfect gift for women of all ages, especially those who enjoy quilts, quilting, and other crafts.

This book brought tears to my eyes July 9, 2008 This is a beautiful story of an older lady that everyone loved and who loves the Lord. She decided to make this one last quilt but all the ladies wanted to help since she had arthritic hands. She said OK as long as they prayed for things they were thankful for with every cut and stitch. I picked this book up at the Library and started reading. Couldn't put it down and only took me about 45 min to read. I will be buying my own copy and want to get one for an Aunt that makes beautiful quilts.
The Quilt April 17, 2008 This is one of my favorite books! If you love a tender story and enjoy quilting, this book will touch your heart. I have a copy for myself and have given some as gifts.

This book grabs you from the very first page. Heart warming and enduring.
Just okay December 14, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was okay. It seemed over-exaggerated to me the way everyone was so against her making a quilt, like she was about to go rob a bank or something. I kept picturing her next line being something like, "Now you all leave me alone, I'm gonna rob that bank and that's all there is to it."
Other than that, it was a sweet enough story. The photography is beautiful, so it would make a great gift for someone. It also makes a lot of references to the Bible for the more spiritually-minded people out there.
Will you touch you deeply! September 6, 2004 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When I first received this book my first impression was of it's physical appearance. It's a small, hard cover book that even has a built in book mark. I was curious about it because it's also a relatively short book. What could so few pages really hold? The cover claims that it's "A simple story that will touch your heart in a profound way." Now that's a pretty tall order!
So I opened the book and from the first sentence I was hooked. It's a simple story of a woman who's reaching the end of her life but has one last project in her: a quilt. I don't know if the story had a deeper effect on me because I see myself rapidly approaching that age or not. But even young people will be touched by the message of the quilt.
As I was thinking about the review that I was going to write a hymn came to mind, "Stand up, stand up for Jesus." There's a phrase in that hymn that speaks of putting each piece of gospel armor on with prayer. The whole idea behind that quilt was that each stitch was to be made with prayer. But not just any prayer, they were to be prayers of thanksgiving. As I read this book I was touched deeply. I challenge you to read this book and then fill your life with prayers of thanksgiving!
