5 out of 5 stars Cindy Woodsmall has written a winner!   September 9, 2007
There are a number of Amish books on the Christian fiction market, and Cindy Woodsmall is probably the newest author to tackle this delicate culture and subject. She does so with sincerity and a knowledge based on much in depth research. The characters are well developed and the plot draws you in right from the start.

The lead character, Hannah, has a shocking secret that could destroy her in the Amish community and she has no where to turn. Her family wants to hide it from the church community and the decision leaves Hannah feeling hollow and uncertain. Follow her journey through the ups and downs of Amish life...I can't give you too much more info on the story line, other than to say it's a subject that is rarely touched in Christian fiction.

The book is a wonderful portrayal of a touching story. The story line weaves itself around your heart, the deeper you go. Although the subject matter is delicate, Cindy uses sensitivity and reveals the deeper heart issues that spring from tragedy. Don't let the hints of sorrow at the beginning deter you from reading this book...joy comes with the sorrow and you won't be sorry you purchased it. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a truly fulfilling read...a fascinating, realistic look into the Amish world. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel and finding out what happens to Hannah, a sweet, strong Amish young woman who left a definite impression on my heart.
