what a wonderful book - packed full of great bags to make for yourself or others as gifts I can't wait till I get the first few made I actually saw this book at my husband's aunt's and was so impressed came home and ordered it!

I had such high hopes for this instructional book on sewing bags based on the positive reviews, but was I ever disappointed! After perusing the book, I found only ONE bag that even remotely interested me. I have more of a classical/traditional design style with a hint of modern twist and this book simply did not fit that bill. Please, don't waste your money on this one.

I purchased this book thinking I'd use only one of the projects, but find that many are functional too. If you seek a book with both functionality and design, this is for you.

Susan Briscoe's written about bags before: now here's a new angle to her creations: a focus on patchwork which covers everything from backpacks and evening bags to portfolios and carrying cases. Equipment and materials lists for each bag accompany step-by-step instructions complete with color photos. The finished, polished results of 21 Sensational Patchwork Bags are appealing.
