 Pumps well with larger hose November 26, 2008
I purchased this pump and the recommended hose. All works great...after purchasing a seperate adapter for the hose to the pump. My local plumbing store carried it (not HD). The hose has a 1 1/2 fitting and the pump has a 1 1/4 fitting. The unit does push a lot of water with the larger hose. I did not even try the garden hose adapter, due to the reviews here.

worked well to empty my hot tub. i picked it up once out of the water and it lost it suction when i put it back in the water. unplugged it and re pluged and it worked fine.

This pump works great for moving water around in my garden. I was looking for the oil-free kind so it would not kill any plants if there was an internal leak. I got 2 of em i use these pumps daily in my grey water system.
Plenty of power for garden use, but for bigger jobs, get a bigger pump with more horsepower. A great deal for only $50 shipped.

i bought this pump to pump water out from the base of my basement steps.it wouldn't pump water the needed 5ft up & out.
