 Thought it would be good but not. October 17, 2008
I thought that this would be the blanket for the winter. I have tried this blanket and an error code has occurred already. I have had this blanket only a month. I can't fix the error code even after instructions. I threw the box and paper work away so I have wasted 100.00. Don't buy this blanket. I read earlier reviews that gave this blanket poor rating but I didn't take heed. I will next time.

WE LIVE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DURING THE SUMMER IT DIPS INTO THE 30'S. WE LOVE BEING ABLE TO WARM UP OUR BED BEFORE WE GET IN AND ALSO SETTING EACH SIDE TO OUR SPECIFIC TEMP. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO USING IN THE WINTER AT 20 DEGREES BELOW. A MUST HAVE, EFFICIENT AND ABOVE SATISFACTORY PRODUCT.

If you have any questions, I would recommend you call Sunbeam directly before you purchase this particular blanket because you cannot find any information on it on their website. That, in combination with the packaging indicating 2007, probably means that this model is a closeout. Unfortunately, they cannot help you unless you have the style number off the back of the control, which Amazon doesn't provide. So, for a king dual control, that style number is: O85KQ. Also, the toll free number for customer service in the USA is: (800) 892-7684. I called them because nowhere does it specify that this blanket is silent operation; the answer I got today was that it "should not make any noise."
I purchased the King blanket with dual controls, for $47.98, with super saver shipping, in seashell. From the packaging, this is "The Blanket with a Brain" with a ThermoFine warming system, and made in the USA. Like other reviewers, I've learned the hard way that Sunbeam blankets in dark colors (my previous one was forest green) will pile and leave tufts on your sheets. An operation manual and installation instructions are provided. This blanket comes with a five year warranty, but you will have to mail it back to Sunbeam if you have any problems. Naturally, we are in the dead of summer now, with 100 degree temperatures, which is why Amazon ran this blanket for such an excellent price. I will have to revisit this review once we use this blanket in cooler weather.

It works for me. Most products are poorly made. Appliances are designed now to die after 7 years or so. I don't expect electric blankets to last forever so I get a new one every 3 or 4 years. These work fine since nothing else works any better.

I really like the blanket and its remotes. It works well and is a thick blanket. However, others said it didn't feel like an electric blanket and the wires were hardly noticable. That's not true. The electric wires running through the blanket are both visible and can easily be felt. It is a good blanket otherwise.
